Robeda Joinery manufactures bespoke hardwood box frame sliding sash windows at our workshop in Bideford, North Devon. Combining traditional appearance with modern glazing and draught-sealing options, each window is individually manufactured to suit the property, opening and specification.
Box frame sliding sash windows are a classic timber window style particularly suited to period, Georgian, Victorian, listed and conservation properties. Every Robeda sliding sash window is made to measure in hardwood and can be manufactured to replicate an existing window or to a new bespoke specification.
Depending on the requirements of the project, our sash windows can operate traditionally using cords, weights and pulleys to counterbalance the sashes, or with modern spiral balances where appropriate.
Where existing windows are being replaced, we take particular care to reproduce important architectural details such as sash dimensions, meeting rails, glazing bars and traditional mouldings, helping new windows retain the proportions and character of the original design.
A range of glazing options is available, including double glazing, single glazing where appropriate for listed and historic properties, and conservation-style slimline glazing. Traditional solid glazing bars and putty-style detailing can also be incorporated where required to achieve an authentic appearance.
Our sliding sash windows can also be fitted with draught seals to improve weather resistance, thermal performance and comfort while retaining the traditional appearance and operation of the window.
A choice of window furniture and ironmongery is available to complete the design.
